On the way from proof of concept to IoT rollout, companies, municipal utilities and public institutions face many challenges. Finding the right devices in particular is a problem that can multiply in a mass rollout. To support its customers in this process, the DIGIMONDO team has introduced the "DIGIMONDO certified" certificate. DIGIMONDO's customers can now rely on the expertise of the experienced team when it comes to hardware: In the IoT platform niota, devices such as sensors receive DIGIMONDO certification if they meet certain standards and have proven themselves in tests and practice.
For the Digimondo team, device certifications are a form of knowledge transfer to the customer: The IoT platform niota provides test reports and field reports in German for a certified sensor. In the field reports, project managers summarize how a sensor works in operation and for which applications it is suitable. 5 to 10 customers have the device in operation at least, so that a detailed report is created. A parser is also part of the report to simplify implementation for specific use cases. For the test reports an internal test protocol has been set up for the DIGIMONDO team to check which functions the sensor fulfils and how compatible it is for different areas. There is also the option for customers to give the team a sensor they are interested in to have it tested.
The certified sensors can be recognised by the green tick that is displayed in the Device Type overview in niota. The following sensors are already certified:
