In an increasingly data-driven energy world, integrated systems are required in which hardware, software and services work seamlessly together. In order to expand this value proposition, Janitza has acquired a majority stake in Digimondo GmbH — a German specialist in IoT software solutions.

The Digimondo niotix platform ideally complements the Janitza gridVIS® network visualization software: While gridVIS® analyses measurement data, identifies energy saving potential and helps with compliance with standards, niotix focuses on the integration, visualization and system connection of various IoT data sources. This makes it ideal for the integration of consumer media such as water, gas and heat. The combination of both software solutions provides a holistic and structured view of all energy data.
“Our vendor-independent platform bundles energy data from various sources and makes it available in real time — for greater efficiency, automation and to meet legal requirements. The partnership with Janitza gives us the opportunity to further develop our technology and tap into new potential for the energy industry,” explains Christopher Rath, managing director of Digimondo GmbH.
Thomas Hilbig, Head of Product Management and Services at Janitza, also highlights the opportunities for cooperation: “With Digimondo, we are gaining a strong partner in the area of IoT integration. The niotix platform perfectly complements our software portfolio — especially when combined with GridVis®. This enables new applications in the analysis, visualization and system integration of energy data. ”
With the merger, Janitza is further expanding its software expertise. Particularly with regard to the central role of GridVIS® in modern energy management systems, new synergies are emerging: The overall solution simplifies data-based decision-making processes and creates added value for operational safety, energy efficiency and process stability.
“The acquisition of the Digimondo majority is an important step for our strategic direction. In an increasingly digital energy world, powerful software is the key. Together, we create holistic solutions that offer real added value for our customers,” explains Janitza CEO Axel Hessenkämper.
Digimondo GmbH will remain based in Hamburg with a team of 18 employees and, as usual, will support its customers as a reliable partner. At the same time, Digimondo will contribute its expertise to the Janitza world in the future and become part of the complete solution for energy management. For Janitza, the takeover marks another milestone in the consistent development of the company from a measurement device manufacturer to a holistic solution provider.
