Cooperation of three specialists offers municipal utilities and energy suppliers rollout solutions for Internet of Things

DIGIMONDO, Landis+Gyr and ICE Gateway offer scalable IoT solutions for district heating

Public utilities and energy suppliers will soon leave the pioneering phase of the Internet of Things behind. Many municipal utilities and suppliers are now facing the next step: the rollout. To make this easier for them, the leading IoT software provider DIGIMONDO, Smart City expert ICE Gateway and Landis+Gyr, the world's leading provider of integrated energy management solutions, are offering a total package for the expansion of IoT solutions with a focus on district heating supply.

Municipal utilities and energy suppliers have accepted the challenges of digitalization and thus initiated a radical change. The Internet of Things has become a significant innovation factor. Some use cases are proving to be particularly rollout-capable, such as the remote maintenance of district heating. The three IoT specialists offer a complete solution for these rollouts. It contains the IoT software from DIGIMONDO, the LoRaWAN® network server firefly and the independent IoT platform niota. ICE Gateway provides the gateways based on the latest mobile edge computer technology. These combine LoRaWAN® with broadband applications such as cameras for security applications as well as predefined Smart City services. The package is completed by Landis+Gyr smart metering technologies.

The three cooperation partners thus cover the entire chain of an IoT rollout from the sensor to installation, consulting and analysis in the software. In doing so, they can rely on the wide range of experience in their respective fields and thus offer their customers the greatest possible security for their expansion.
"Many of our customers are already aiming to roll out their IoT applications. We see a focus on the district heating sector. We are therefore pleased to expand our IoT ecosystem with ICE Gateway and Landis+Gyr, which is based on our independent and mass-market IoT software," says DIGIMONDO CEO Christopher Rath. "By working together, we enable customers to implement total solutions for mass rollout".
"With our latest Mobile Edge Computer technology, which simultaneously enables LoRaWAN® with broadband applications up to 50Mbit/s, we offer our customers a unique combination on the market for building innovative infrastructure solutions. Together with our partners, we thus offer an extremely easy entry into the various IoT solutions", says Ralf Gerbershagen, Managing Director of ICE Gateway.

"With this cooperation we are offering the district heating industry a suitable answer to the challenges posed by the EU Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), which must be implemented as early as this year," says Marc Ebbecke, Sales Manager for heat and cooling meters at Landis+Gyr. "With the EED, remote reading of heat meters will also become standard - and with Landis+Gyr's smart metering solutions we help our customers to be prepared for the requirements of today and tomorrow".
